Time magazine picked an image based on Mopra CO survey data as one of the best space photos of the year 2015 – the X-ray echoes in Cir X-1. It’s number 10 in the list of images at the web page here:

What Mopra did was find molecular clumps at the locations where bright X-ray light echoes were seen coming from, and then by converting these into distances, helped to derive a geometrical distance to the source of the X-rays.
