Team Mopra #totheMax!

I’m taking a break from my regular job this week to attend the .astronomy conference, which is all about the interesting things that can be done when the internet and astronomy get together to explore the bounds of current technology.

So far I’ve seen a robot being built, with software that takes instruction from a webpage and makes it point at any object up in the sky (documentation pending, but it’s #spaceshark on twitter), there’s been a new podcast constructed that reads out the latest astronomical preprints using text-to-speech (search for robo-ph on the iTunes store), and I have been involved in building a system for taking astronomical images of any size and sharing them to the virtual observatory (trust me, it’s going to be awesome).

But in the meantime, I’ve also taken the time to “hack” an add on to the somewhat well-known Koalas to the Max, inventively called Mopra to the Max! Go forth and play, while I delve back into the mysteries of html5.
